GEORGETOWN LIBRARY
October 2010

Six large-scale wall panels for the children's room of the new Georgetown Public Library, which re-opened in October 2010. The images, objects, and textures collaged here are gathered from the Peabody collection, the D.C. Library's Washingtoniana collection, and the archive of the Georgetown illustrator Carol Stuart Watson; the characters are famous–and less famous–residents of the neighborhood. The panels recite the first line of Georgetowner Francis Scott Key's "The Star-Spangled Banner."
